Update to version 0.0.2.7


It's been a long summer for me, with a lot of work on the game done in the background. A lot of the underlying systems have been updated, here are just a few:

  • Minimap now supports correctly displaying walls that the player ship cannot pass through. Work is still required to ensure all areas are updated to the new system.
  • Added an effect when the player ship is hit, where the player HUD shakes. This effect can be disabled in the Options menu.
  • Most sounds are correctly mapped to the music/SFX options. Work still underway to map all sounds as needed.
  • Scrappers location is fully integrated in the game, except for enemy locations.
  • Removed unlocking minigame used to access different Shell enemy locations. The player will only need to interact with shell gates to pass through,
  • New collision system, ensuring player ship does not get stuck inside larger pieces of solid objects,
  • Other small fixes.

What's next:

  • Two more enemy ships to be designed and implemented.
  • Shell area to be finished within the next few months
  • Enemies to be scattered throughout the world
  • Work is underway to complete all main quests from beginning to end. Some reworking of existing quests is required.
  • Intro cinematic explaining the start of the game is underway.
  • Ten total primary weapons to be designed and implemented.
  • Small fixes and implementations to come.
